Hotel Training Institute Beluga School for Life Phang Nga

The idea of becoming a hotel school arose a year after the School for Life opened its gates. There are thousands of people working in hotels in the area of Khao Lak. Year after year more and more hotels were built, but there was no proper hotel school to train staff for the industry. Since the Beluga School for Life already had all the proper facilities needed in hotel training schools, Mr. Manoon Kalapat was recruited to establish the Hotel Training Institute.

Hotel Training InstituteStarting in June, 2008, Thai students who aspire to an education in the hotel business can train as qualified workers in the areas of Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and Cookery at the "Hotel Training Institute Beluga School for Life Phang-Nga". As yet, this training concept is unique in Thailand and has been developed to provide young people with new prospects and actively and professionally support them in their vocational education.

The intensive and practically oriented education model is not only open to the adolescents of the Beluga School for Life but also to all other interested youths from the region. The theoretical and practical training at the Hotel Institute, BSfL lasts 8-9 months, followed by a 3-month On the Job Training (OJT).

This effective combination of practice and theory represents an innovation in Thailand's educational system:

The young trainees have a great chance to be hired directly after their education because the Hotel Training Institute Beluga School for Life Phang-Nga cooperates with numerous hotels in the tourism region of Khao Lak.

The trainees gain their first professional experience in the guest area of the Beluga School for Life and also practice direct customer contact there. Doing justice to the international orientation in the area of tourism, the primary language of instruction is English. Furthermore, the trainees become acquainted with a form of tourism which aims at being ecologically and economically sustainable as well as ethically and socially just. An intensive intercultural training complements the versatile and professional education.
